Would you like to benefit from your Santa Rosa Junior College charitable gift tax savings, yet do not want to give up assets that your family will receive in the future? You can have the benefits of both with a charitable lead trust.

There are two ways charitable lead trusts make payments:
A charitable lead annuity trust pays a fixed amount each year to SRJC and is more attractive when interest rates are low.

A charitable lead unitrust pays a variable amount each year based on the value of the assets in the trust. With a unitrust, if the trust's assets go up in value, for example, the payments to SRJC Foundation go up as well.

A minimum funding level of $100,000 is suggested with no minimum age requirement. The trust terms shall not exceed 20 years. Cash or personal property may be used to fund a lead trust. Real property is not accepted unless the property produces income.
